I'd written these lyrics about how darned attractive humans can be...little gestures they might do while you're talking to them, perhaps the first night you've met them...and saying to yourself, "keep it up, and I'll goddamned fall in love with you!" I used the language of someone threatening to jump off a ledge or blow up a bomb--threatening the hostage negotiator or whoever is trying to talk them down: "do that again, and I swear to god, I'll do it!!!" Only, it's not blow up a bomb or jump off the ledge...it's falling for someone. Dangerous business. "I'll blow this place sky high!" = "this will fuck up my good thing!" Don't we all fall in love, at least a little, hundreds of times...thousands? No? Whoops, never mind...So the song should be dark and menacing but also wonderful and romantic (attraction fraught with great peril...I'll dream about you = my doom). File it under dark romantic comedy.
